[Music] have you ever noticed a situation where the SERPs reported in your dashboard don't match up with the Serbs you're seeing on your end in this video we'll be walking through the most common causes for search that appear to be inaccurate first is your dashboard date range set to a time period in the past like any other rank tracker we're not able to report on serbs from a time prior to when you added your keyword source system but quite often customers will accidentally configure a historical time frame let's say that you just added a given campaign to our system a few months ago you're looking at Google Analytics data from five years ago using our custom time period option which is no problem since you've got data going back that far and near native Google Analytics account but then you switch over to the rankings module and you forget to modify the time period since we don't have rankings from that time period five years ago you'll just see dashes for every search engine the solution here is to simply update your time period to something more recent next are you tracking keywords from the correct geographic location SERPs will

vary dramatically based on the geographic location from which they're being emulated if you've told our system to track rankings from Detroit but you meant to track rankings from Denver you're gonna have a bad time to verify the location being tracked in your campaign open the settings slider then tick the box for location and you'll then see a column listing the location configured for each individual keyword have you checked your Google 3-pack setting this is probably the single most common cause for confusion about the accuracy of results in our dashboard the Google 3-pack is a snippet of the top three Google local results that are injected into the organic search for keywords that Google determines to be localized in nature many times our customers will have their Google's free packs setting toggle to enabled in their campaign dashboard but they're counting the SERPs on their end as though the setting were disabled here we're looking at a search for the keyword breweries in my current geographic location of Grand Rapids Michigan if you have your Google three packs setting and abled in our dashboard it will count these positions
